Introduction
You can apply online to renew your industry participant and promoter registration to carry out an activity at combat sports contests in NSW. This can be done online from 8 weeks before your registration expiry date.
Registration expires 3 years from the date granted, unless cancelled earlier, or the term extended or reduced.
Eligibility
You can renew your combat sports industry participant and promoter registration provided you have submitted a complete application, and your registration has not expired.
Note: You must not be a controlled member of a declared organisation under the Crimes (Criminal Organisations Control) Act 2012.
What you need
- a MyServiceNSW Account
- you may need details from 2 identity documents (such as an Australian driver licence, Medicare card, Passport)
- your industry participant registration number
- your renewal number, including all digits and letters (as shown on your renewal reminder notice)
- a recent passport size photograph in JPG/PNG format, maximum file size 10MB
- successful completion of the training relating to the management of concussion and head injuries. More information is available on the Authority website.
- your payment.
In addition:
- Trainer applicants also need
- a completed Trainer examination
- a current first aid certificate with course code HLTAID003 Provide First Aid or HLTAID01 First Aid, and
- a signed Parent/Legal guardian consent form for applicants under 18 years of age.
- Referee, judge and timekeeper applicants also need
- a completed Referee/Judge/Timekeeper examination
- a completed Proof of Qualifications and Endorsement of Skills & Experience Declaration
- a National Police Certificate (containing your national criminal history), issued not more than 6 weeks before the date on which the application is made
- a current first aid certificate with course code HLTAID003 Provide First Aid or HLTAID01 First Aid (required for referee registration class applications only), and
- a signed Parent/Legal guardian consent form for applicants under 18 years of age
- Promoter, manager and matchmaker applicants also need
- a completed Promoter examination
- a completed Manager and Matchmaker examination.
If you've been registered as an industry participant and promoter before, but have changed your name, you need to inform the Authority by completing the Change of name form before completing this transaction.
How to renew
- Check the eligibility requirements.
- Gather the required details and documents.
- Select the ‘Renew online’ button.
- Log in to your MyServiceNSW Account.
- Enter your registration and renewal numbers, these can be found on your renewal notice.
- Follow the prompts to renew your industry participant and promoter registration.
Once you’ve submitted your application, you’ll get an email confirmation and payment receipt.
Privacy
To renew combat sports registration with the Combat Sports Authority NSW (NSW Office of Sport), you’ll need to create or log in with a MyServiceNSW Account.

- You'll get an industry participant identity card mailed to your postal address within 10 business days.
- Applications for promoter, manager and matchmaker are referred to the Police Commissioner for a security determination. This may take several weeks. Promoters must allow sufficient time for their application to be considered. It is an offence to arrange a combat sport contest unless registered in the appropriate promoter class.
- If you need to update your details, go to Change name or contact details on an industry participant and promoter registration.
- You can only renew industry participant and promoter class(es) already held on your registration. We recommend completing a Manage industry participant and promoter classes transaction after your renewal application is approved if you need to update your registration classes.
