Introduction
Companies or partnerships that contract, sub-contract and/or advertise to carry out residential building or trade work, need to be licensed. You'll receive a renewal notice for your company contractor licence six weeks before the expiry date. You can then pay for and renew your licence online.
Eligibility
If you don't wish to renew your licence online, you can visit a service centre.

What you need
- your licence number, and
- your renewal number (as shown on your renewal notice), or your full personal details.
How to renew
- Select the 'Renew online' button.
- Select 'Next'.
- Enter your licence and renewal numbers as shown on your renewal notice. (If you don't have your renewal number, select 'Don't have?' and enter your name, birth date and postcode.)
- Select 'Next'.
- Confirm the details of your licence.
- Enter your payment details.
- Read and confirm the declaration.
More information
- If you don't renew on time you'll have to make an application to restore your licence, which can be done at a service centre.
- If your licence has expired more than 3 months, you'll need to apply for a new licence to be re-issued.
- You cannot trade until your new licence is issued.
