Introduction

If your Transport for NSW E-Toll tag is faulty due to a battery or technical problem, you can take it to a Service NSW Centre and replace it free of charge.

Your new tag will be posted to your nominated address within 5-7 business days.

You can use toll roads immediately following successful payment, provided you list a valid licence plate number on your account. Any vehicle matching fees incurred during this time will be re-credited to your E-Toll Account and appear on your next statement cycle.

What you need

  • the faulty tag/s
  • a signed letter giving an authorised representative the authority to replace the tag/s on your behalf (if applicable).

How to replace

  1. Gather your faulty tag.
  2. Wrap the tag in aluminium foil to ensure it does not read at any toll points in transit.
  3. Visit a service centre and return your tag for a replacement.

To view instructions on how to install your tag from its bracket, please refer to the installation instructions specific to your tag type.
