How to apply for a Mobility Parking Permit

Fill in and sign a Mobility Parking Scheme Application form to get a permit.

You can get a form:

Taking your form to a doctor

You may need to take the form to your doctor. 

Ask them to read and sign the medical sections. 

You will need this when you visit the Service Centre.

To apply for a Mobility Parking Scheme Permit, you will need to prove who you are.

If you cannot have your photo taken

If you are 16 or older you may need to have a photo taken. 

If you cannot have a photo taken because of medical reasons, visit Photo Exemptions to see what you need to get an exemption.

You need to bring your Mobility Parking Scheme form and proof of who you are

If you have a pensioner card or photo exemption papers, bring those too.

Arriving at the Service Centre

A team member will help you choose the right ticket and tell you if you need to do anything else. 

If you need more help when you visit, talk to a team member.

Ticket

Each ticket has a number. It tells you when it is your turn. 

If it is busy, you may need to wait for your turn to talk to a team member at a counter.

You can sit, relax, and wait your turn.

It may be busy and some people might need to stand.

If you need a seat but none are available, please ask a team member for help.

Your turn

There are screens that tell you when it is your turn. 

Look for your ticket number and the counter number you need to go to. 

If you miss your turn or need help, ask a team member.

Go to the counter number shown on the screen. 

Show your ticket to the team member at that counter. 

Give them: 

  • your application form
  • proof of who you are, and
  • any pensioner card.

If you have a photo exemption or fitness to drive, bring those too.

Paying for your Mobility Parking Permit

You can pay for your Mobility Parking Permit at the counter using your bank card.

If you have a pensioner card, your Mobility Parking Permit will be free.

Taking your photo

The team member will ask you to take a seat to have your photo taken.

Before you leave, a team member will give you a Mobility Parking Permit holder.

You can put your card in it when it arrives in the mail.

Receiving your Mobility Parking Permit

Your Mobility Parking Scheme Permit card will be mailed to your address within 3 weeks.

Showing your permit

When your card arrives in the mail, put it in the permit holder so the accessibility symbol shows. 

You can use your card, in the holder, in any car.

When you are not using your permit, keep it out of the sun.
