Introduction
If you have an NDIS Worker Check clearance you must update any changes to your details within 3 months of the change. This is a requirement under Section 18 of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (Worker Checks) Act 2018.
You can update some of your details online through your MyServiceNSW Account. To log in to your MyServiceNSW Account you must go to the Service NSW website not the Service NSW mobile phone app.
Your NDIS Worker Check is a digital credential. You do not receive a certificate or card.
Details to update
You must update changes to your:
- name
- residential address
- contact details (email and phone number).
Change of name
If you change your name, email the NDIS Worker Check screening agency at contact@ndiswc.nsw.gov.au.
The agency will email you to:
- tell you what you need to provide and
- give you a form for you to complete and return to the agency.
What you need
To update your details you need:
- a MyServiceNSW Account
- an NDIS Worker Check
- your new details as applicable – address or contact details (email, phone number).
Provide your personal contact details
Your contact details are used to contact you about personal and sensitive information relating to your NDIS Worker Check. For this reason we ask that you provide your personal email and mobile phone number rather than your work contact details.
How to update your details
- Select the 'Go to NDIS Worker Check' button.
- Log in to your MyServiceNSW Account.
- Select 'NDIS Worker Check' from the dashboard.
- Follow the prompts to update your details.
How to link your MyServiceNSW Account
You can link your NDIS Worker Check issued in NSW to your MyServiceNSW Account. This includes linking to a different or new MyServiceNSW Account.
- Log in to your MyServiceNSW Account.
- Go to 'Add services'.
- Select 'NDIS Worker Check'.
- Select Yes to 'Do you currently hold a NSW NDISWC or have you previously applied in NSW?'
- Enter your details
- first name
- last name
- date of birth
- NDIS Worker Check number
- email address or phone number or town of birth.
Change of employer
When you apply, your NDIS employer verifies your application. This create a link with you on the NDIS Worker Screening Database.
If you change NDIS employers or start work with another NDIS employer during the 5 years of your clearance your new employer will create a link with you. If you've left an employer they will remove the link.
Your employer is responsible for linking with your NDIS Worker Check and making sure you have the clearance you need.
