Introduction

You can replace a lost, stolen, damaged or destroyed security operative licence online.

What you need

  • a MyServiceNSW Account
    • you can create one when you start your application
    • you may need details from 2 identity documents (such as Australian driver licence and passport)
  • your personal and contact details
  • your licence number
  • your payment.

Notes:

  • If your licence is lost or stolen, you have 7 days to file a report and obtain an Event number through the NSW Police Force Community Portal. If you're unable to report online, you can call the Police Assistance Line on 131 444.
  • If your licence is destroyed, damaged or illegible, you must first call the Security Licensing & Enforcement Directorate (SLED) on 1300 362 001.

How to replace

  1. Gather the required details and documents.
  2. Select the 'Replace online' button.
  3. Log in, or create your MyServiceNSW Account.
  4. Follow the prompts to replace your security operative licence.

Once you've submitted your application, you'll receive an email confirmation and payment receipt. 

You'll also receive a letter if you need to attend a Service NSW Centre to have your photo taken for your new licence card.

Note: If you're unable to apply online, you can complete the application form 'Amend, vary or replace an existing Class 1 and/or Class 2 licence' and send it by post to the address on the form.

Privacy

To replace a security operative licence with the Security Licensing & Enforcement Directorate (NSW Police Force), you'll need to create or log in with a MyServiceNSW Account.

By logging in you consent to sharing your name and email address in your MyServiceNSW Account with the NSW Police Force.
