Introduction
If your licence is lost or stolen, you have 7 days to file a report and obtain an Event number:
- through the NSW Police Force Community Portal or
- call the Police Assistance Line on 131 444.
If your licence is destroyed, damaged or illegible, you must first call the Security Licensing & Enforcement Directorate (SLED) on 1300 362 001.
Update your contact details
If your contact details have changed you can update your details when you replace your licence online.
What you need
To replace your security operative licence online you need:
- a MyServiceNSW Account
- you can create one when you start your application
- you may need details from 2 identity documents (such as Australian driver licence and passport)
- your licence number
- your fee payment.

How to replace your licence
- Select the 'Replace online' button.
- Log in, or create your MyServiceNSW Account.
- Follow the prompts to replace your security operative licence.
If you cannot apply online you can:
- complete the application form Amend, vary or replace an existing Class 1 and/or Class 2 licence – PDF
- send the form by post to the address on the form.
What happens next
After you submit your application you receive an email confirmation and payment receipt.
If you need to attend a Service NSW Centre to have your photo taken for your new licence card you will get a letter.
