Introduction
You can change your contact details (address, email, mobile or telephone number) on a security operative licence online.
To change your name or other personal details you need to complete a form and mail it to the Security Licensing & Enforcement Directorate (SLED).
To vary a licence, refer to add or remove a security operative subclass.
What you need
To change your contact details, you need:
- a MyServiceNSW Account
- you can create one when you start your application
- you may need details from 2 identity documents (such as Australian driver licence, Medicare card, passport)
- your licence details
- your previous and current contact details
- your fee payment (if applicable).

To change your name or other personal details, you need:
- the PDF form – 'Application to Amend, Vary or Replace an Existing Class 1 and/or Class 2 licence'
- a certified copy of one of the following change of name documents:
- marriage certificate(s) issued by the NSW Registry of Births, Deaths & Marriages or, if married elsewhere, the marriage certificate issued by the celebrant or church
- change of name certificate issued by the NSW Registry of Births, Deaths & Marriages
- full birth certificate showing your name at birth and your new name (extracts and Commemorative certificates are not acceptable)
- divorce decree
- deed poll registered with the relevant authority
- instrument evidencing that the change of name has been registered with NSW Land Registry Services.
Change of name documents must be certified by a:
- Justice of the Peace
- Legal Practitioner or
- Notary Public.
How to change
To change your contact details:
- Select the 'Change online' button.
- Log in, or create your MyServiceNSW Account.
- Follow the prompts to change your contact details.
To change your name or other personal details:
- Download and complete the form Application to Amend, Vary or Replace an Existing Class 1 and/or Class 2 licence – PDF'.
- Send the form and your documents (if applicable) by post to the address on the form.
