Training
- Fee-free apprenticeships
Under the fee-free apprenticeship initiative, employees/apprentices pay no upfront fees. All NSW apprentices, including NSW school-based apprentices whose training commences before 30 June 2025, are eligible.
Rebates
- Apply for an apprentice vehicle registration rebate
If you're a first or second year apprentice registered with the NSW Department of Education, you can apply for a registration rebate to help you with the costs of registering your vehicle.
Assistance and support
- Financial support for apprentices working in priority occupations
When you train in a priority occupation you may be eligible for an incentive to support you to complete your apprenticeship and offset the cost of living. - Apply for the VTAS travel and accommodation allowance
- Register with Continuing Apprentices and Trainees Placement Service (CAPS)
If you're an apprentice or trainee and you've lost your job, make sure you register with Continuing Apprentices and Trainees Placement Service (CAPS) as soon as you can. - Apply for CAPS relocation and rental assistance

- Visit Financial support for employers on the Australian Apprenticeships website for information on Australian Government programs including the Priority Wage Subsidy, Priority Hiring Incentive, Group Training Organisation Reimbursement Program, Disability Australian Apprentice Wage Support (DAAWS)
