What it means
If you deactivate your NSW Digital ID, you:
- will not be able to use it to verify your identity in a single step in NSW Government online transactions
- will need to use multiple documents to prove your identity
- can continue to use MyServiceNSW Account to access your NSW Digital Driver Licence or Photo Card and other services.
How to deactivate your NSW Digital ID
Option A: Using the MyServiceNSW Account
- Log in to your MyServiceNSW Account.
- Go to ‘Manage account’.
- Go to ‘Security and settings’.
- Go to ‘Manage NSW Digital ID’.
- Select 'Deactivate'.
- Follow the instructions to remove your NSW Digital ID.
If you need to, you can create a new NSW Digital ID.
Option B: Using the Service NSW app
The NSW Digital ID is currently in pilot phase. It is not possible to access or manage your NSW Digital ID in the Service NSW app.
Record keeping
When your NSW Digital ID is deactivated, Service NSW is required to retain it until all associated records have passed their retention period.
