The NSW Digital ID pilot program
The NSW Digital ID is currently in a pilot phase. For now, the number of NSW Government services you can use the NSW Digital ID with is limited.

Introduction
The NSW Digital ID is a way to verify your identity in a single step when accessing select NSW Government online transactions. Using your NSW Digital ID for these transactions means your identity document details are not stored or recorded by another organisation.
Creating your NSW Digital ID is voluntary. You don't need to have the NSW Digital ID.
Eligibility
To create your NSW Digital ID you need to:
- be aged 16 or over
- live in NSW.
What you need
- a MyServiceNSW Account
- 3 identity documents from the required list
- a working, front-facing camera on your device. This will be used for face verification.
Required identity documents
You need 3 current identity documents as listed:
- NSW Driver Licence or Photo Card
- one such as Australian passport, Australian birth certificate, foreign passport with an Australian visa
- one such as Medicare card, Pensioner concession card, Seniors Health Card, Health Care Card
Note: If the names on your documents differ due to marriage, separation or divorce you will need a marriage certificate to link your documents.
How to create your NSW Digital ID
- Select the 'Create your NSW Digital ID' button.
- Log in to your MyServiceNSW Account.
- Follow the prompts to create your NSW Digital ID.
How to use your NSW Digital ID
Your NSW Digital ID will be available for use in select NSW Government transactions as soon as you have created it.
Whenever you use a NSW Government service enabled to work with the NSW Digital ID it will be used to prove your identity.
The NSW Government is working hard to expand the number of services and interactions where using the NSW Digital ID will make the process smoother and more convenient.
