Introduction
If your Australian residency status changes, you'll need to visit a Service NSW Centre to update your driver licence details.
What you need
- your proof of identity
- evidence of Australian citizenship or permanent residency, such as your citizenship certificate, naturalisation document, passport or overseas passport (if applicable)
- the PDF form – Replacement Application (if a replacement driver licence is needed), or
- the PDF form – Change of Records (if a driver licence replacement is not required)
- your payment (if applicable).
How to change
- Download, print and complete either:
- Replacement Application – PDF form (if you need a replacement driver licence), or
- Change of Records – PDF form (if you don't need a replacement driver licence).
- Gather your supporting documents.
- Visit a service centre and submit your application.
Payment options
At most service centre locations, you can pay by EFTPOS, credit or debit card – Mastercard, Visa, American Express or UnionPay.
Not all service centre locations accept cash. Check the list of locations where cash is not accepted before you visit.
Our Mobile Service Centres are cashless and do not accept cash payments. You can only pay by EFTPOS, credit or debit card.
