Renew the registration on a vehicle eligible for a concession

Introduction

If you're eligible for a concession because of your vehicle registration's usage code, you'll need to renew your registration at a Service NSW Centre or by phone.

Note: If you're a pensioner, you may be eligible for a pensioner concession on vehicle registration renewals.

Eligibility

Eligible registration usage codes include:

• AMBU – Ambulance vehicle
• CIVL – Civil defence vehicle
• FIRE – Fire fighting vehicle 
• HAND – Transport for people with a disability
• MCRA – Mobile crane
• MINE – Mine rescue vehicle
• PAST – Local Land Services
• POLC – Police youth club vehicle
• PPG – Primary producer vehicle
• PRIV – Wheelchair modified vehicle (with vehicle condition code V88)
• RDWK – Roadwork by a council, park or cemetery trust (or general roadwork)
• SCHL – School student driver education vehicle
• SES – State emergency service
• SURF – Surf Life Saving Club vehicle
• TOW – Tow trucks with 'crane and hook' body.

What you need

• the PDF form – 'Declaration of Eligibility for a Registration Concession'
• your registration details, including the plate number, available on your registration renewal notice and digital Certificate of Registration
• your registration renewal notice to note your receipt number (this is not needed for Digital Vehicle Registration)
• your compulsory third party (CTP) insurance, also known as a green slip – your insurance company will forward your payment receipt to Transport for NSW (TfNSW)
• your safety inspection report – your mechanic will forward the report to TfNSW
• a signed declaration, tax averaging certificate or tax assessment notice (primary producer vehicles only)
• your payment (if applicable). 

How to renew

1. Select the 'Download PDF form' button. 
2. Download and complete the form. 
3. Gather your documents and visit a service centre to renew your vehicle registration.

You can also renew your registration by calling 13 77 88. You'll need to verbally accept the Declaration of Eligibility for a Registration Concession.
