Introduction

If your NSW Photo Card is lost, stolen or damaged, you'll need to replace it as soon as possible. You'll also need to replace it if your personal details change. 

You can order a replacement NSW Photo Card online, or by visiting a Service NSW Centre.

Eligibility

You cannot replace a NSW Photo Card online if you have:

  • changed your address within the last 14 days, or
  • ordered a replacement licence online in the last 12 months.

To make sure that you have all the information and documentation you need to complete this transaction, please visit proving your identity.

What you need

To replace a NSW Photo Card you need:

  • NSW Driver Licence or NSW Photo Card
  • An Online Services account (you can create one when you start)
  • Your fee payment

How to apply

Online

  1. Select the 'Replace online' button.
  2. Accept the Terms and Conditions and privacy statement.
  3. Sign up or log in to your Online Services account.
  4. Follow the prompts to replace your NSW Photo Card online.

In person

You'll need to visit a service centre if:

  • you want to change your details at the same time as ordering a replacement licence
  • you've changed your address within the last 14 days
  • you've requested a replacement online within the last 12 months.

To replace a NSW Photo Card at a service centre:

  1. Download and fill in the NSW Photo Card application or replacement – PDF form.
  2. Visit a service centre to submit your form.

What happens next

  • Renewal notices are posted generally within 6 weeks of the card's expiry date.
