Introduction

If you hold a contractor licence and you have not renewed it before the licence expiry date you need to visit a Service NSW Centre to restore the licence.

You must restore your licence within 3 months of the expiry date or you have to apply for an individual contractor licence.

You cannot trade as a contractor if your licence is not current.

To check your registration number and details visit Verify NSW.

What you need

  • your completed licence renewal notice
  • your proof of identity (if you do not have your renewal notice)
  • your fee payment.

Take your renewal notice and payment to a service centre.

What happens next

When you apply:

  • your application will be assessed for approval by Building Commission NSW
  • if Building Commission NSW contacts you for further information your application will be placed on hold until you provide the information
  • you will be notified about the result of your application when the assessment is completed.
