More information

The NSW Ageing and Disability Commission is an independent agency of the NSW government, established July 1 2019. Their role is to better protect older people and adults with disability from abuse, neglect and exploitation from someone they know living in their home or community, and to promote their fundamental human rights.

The Ageing and Disability Commission includes the Ageing and Disability Abuse Helpline. Reports can be made to the Helpline by calling 1800 628 221, or nswadc@adc.nsw.gov.au.

It is important to know that the role of the ADC is not to investigate the conduct of paid service providers for older people or adults with a disability. Instead, the focus is on the conduct of the person’s family and other informal supports, or members known to them from the community.

COVID-19: The Ageing and Disability Commission has not been affected by COVID-19, and you can continue to report concerns of abuse, neglect and exploitation to the Ageing and Disability Abuse Helpline on 1800 628 221 (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm).
