The farm business skills professional development program has been initiated to support farmers and provide access to vocational and skills training.

The courses available fall into 3 categories:

  • risk management
  • financial and business management
  • farm business planning/drought preparedness.

Approved participants can claim a 50% subsidy of up to $5000 for the first individual, and an additional $1000 per person up to a maximum of 4 people. The total amount available per farm business is $9000.

The subsidy can be used to cover course costs including:

  • course fees
  • travel costs
  • child/respite care costs
  • software specifically relating to a course.
