From 26 November 2021 Dine & Discover NSW increased from 4 to 6 vouchers. 

If you have already received your first 4 vouchers, you do not need to reapply to receive the additional vouchers.

The NSW Government launched Dine & Discover NSW to encourage the community to get out and about and support dining, arts and recreation businesses.

NSW residents aged 18 and over can apply for 6 x $25 vouchers, worth $150 in total.

  • 3 x $25 Dine NSW Vouchers to be used for dining in at restaurants, cafés, bars, wineries, pubs and clubs or for takeaway meals.
  • 3 x $25 Discover NSW Vouchers to be used for entertainment and recreation, including cultural institutions, live music, and arts venues.

Who can apply for Dine & Discover NSW Vouchers?

You must:

  • be a NSW resident
  • be aged 18 years or over.

Can I apply for vouchers if I have a property in NSW but my primary address is in another state?

No, to be eligible for the vouchers, your primary residence (where you spend the majority of your time) needs to be in NSW.

Other states have similar support available to residents – check your state government website for details.

Applying for vouchers

How do I apply?

If you meet the eligibility requirements, you can apply for Dine & Discover NSW Vouchers online.

You'll need:

  • a MyServiceNSW Account.
  • 2 proof of identity documents such as your NSW driver licence, Medicare card, Australian passport.
    Note: the names must match on your documents.
  • a mobile device (iOS or Android) to download the Service NSW app and use the vouchers.

How do I apply if I do not have a mobile device or email address, or I have no internet access?

If you do not have a mobile device or email address, or you're unable to apply online, you can call 13 77 88 to apply for the vouchers. 

How will I receive the vouchers?

If you're successful, you'll find them under the ‘Vouchers’ section of the Service NSW App, ready to use within an hour. 

You'll also receive an email from Service NSW with the vouchers available to download and print.

Why are my vouchers not showing in the app?

Check to see that you have the latest version of the Service NSW app installed. It may take up to an hour for the vouchers to appear in the app after you've successfully applied. 

As you'll also receive the vouchers by email, check your inbox and spam folders for an email from Service NSW.

You've extended the voucher scheme. Does this mean I can apply for more vouchers?

No, the extension is to allow people more time to spend their vouchers.

You can apply for the vouchers once and can only receive 4 x vouchers in total.

Additional vouchers

From 26 November 2021 Dine & Discover NSW increased from 4 to 6 vouchers.

  • If you received the original vouchers in the Service NSW app, the additional 2 vouchers will appear in the 'Vouchers' section by 3 December 2021.
  • If you received the original vouchers by email, we'll send the additional 2 vouchers in an email by 7 December 2021.
  • If you received the original vouchers in paper format, please call 13 77 88 from 3 December 2021. You'll need to let us know how you'd like to receive the 2 new vouchers:
    • by email or SMS
    • by collecting them from a service centre of your choice. 

New customers applying after 26 November will receive 6 vouchers.

You can apply for the vouchers anytime up until June 2022.

Using the vouchers

How do I use the Dine & Discover NSW Vouchers?

If you're successful, you'll find the vouchers under the ‘Vouchers’ section of the Service NSW App within an hour. You'll also receive an email from Service NSW with the vouchers available to download and print.

  1. Find a participating business.
  2. Log in to the Service NSW App on your mobile device.
  3. Select ‘Vouchers’.
  4. Select the valid voucher you wish to use.
  5. Present the voucher QR code for the business to scan at payment.
  6. Your device will show the voucher as being used.

If you do not have a mobile device, you may use a printed voucher or voucher code. Both printed and digital options can be accepted by participating businesses. 

What activities qualify for the Dine & Discover NSW Vouchers?

  • Dine NSW Vouchers can be used to dine in at a restaurant, café, bar, winery, pub and club or for takeaway.
  • Discover NSW Vouchers can be used for entertainment and recreation, including cultural institutions, live music, and arts venues.

When can I use the Dine & Discover NSW Vouchers?

Dine NSW Vouchers and Discover NSW Vouchers can be used 7 days a week, including public holidays.

I have a PDF or printed Dine NSW Voucher that says I can use it Monday to Thursday. When can I use the voucher?

You can use your Dine NSW Vouchers 7 days a week. You don't need a new voucher and can present your existing voucher at participating Dine NSW businesses. 

I have a voucher that shows an expiry date of 30 June 2021, can I use it after that date?

Yes, the Dine & Discover NSW Voucher scheme has been extended. You now have until 30 June 2022 to use your vouchers.

What types of activities are excluded from the scheme?

Vouchers cannot be:

  • redeemed for cash
  • used for 
    • alcohol 
    • tobacco 
    • gambling
    • online orders (Dine NSW Vouchers only).

Can I use more than one voucher for the same bill?

You can only redeem one voucher per day at a business. However, you can combine your voucher with another person's voucher towards the same bill (if the business allows bill-splitting).

Can I use a voucher if the bill is less than $25?

Yes, you can, but neither you nor the business will receive the leftover amount. Any balance of funds is given up.

For example, if you spend $15 and use your $25 voucher to pay, the voucher has been used in full. The remaining $10 balance is not available on the voucher or given to you as change, and is not kept by the business.  

Can I use the vouchers outside my area?

Yes, once you have your vouchers, you'll be able to use them at any participating business in NSW that is registered as COVID Safe.

Can I use the Dine NSW Voucher for takeaway?

Yes, you can now use your Dine NSW Voucher for takeaway meals at businesses that have registered for the scheme.

Where can I find a business that accepts vouchers?

You can find a participating business online or in the Service NSW app after you've received your vouchers. 

Why is a business declining my voucher?

A business cannot accept a voucher if:

  • they're not registered and approved for the Dine & Discover NSW scheme
  • your voucher is no longer valid.
